Hi,

I have a playbar, sub, 2 play ones & a play 3. I seem to be getting a high pitched noise lately in the background that I have not had before. It seems to be coming from the playbar. I also seem to be having a problem with updating my speakers. Is there also a way to revert back to the S1 app since I have an old play5 speaker gen 1.

My diagnostics number is: 1908760806

Anyone?

Does the Sonos support not answer in this forum?

Hi @DanielKane.

Welcome, thank you for reaching out to Sonos Community and providing the diagnostic report, We appreciate your time and effort in posting your concern here in our community.

Have you already tried to isolate the playbar if the high pitched noise is coming from it?

I suggest checking the optical cable make sure it plug in properly you can also unplug and plug it back.

Is it just doing it when watching movies, how about playing music?

Now for downgrading to S1 application, I would like to recommend calling our customer phone support on this so you can be assisted with more.

If you need help with any other information, please be sure to let us know.

A high pitched whine from the Playbar whenever it’s powered, whether it’s playing or not, is typically caused by a mechanical fault in the internal switched mode power supply.
