I have an old Toshilba TV - 10 years old at least.  No ARC connection, also the Optical output is old style and does not fit with the cable provided.  Is there another solution to adding my Beam to the TV ?  Best solution is a new TV, but this one has great picture and nothing wrong with it.

Not as easy to find, but you can search for one of those ‘special to normal’ optical connector types, if memory serves, they’re not overly expensive, just rare. Then you could use a standard optical cable connection to the Sonos adapter.

Can you post a picture of the “old style” optical output?

If memory serves (and dear god, I hate posting this link), it would look like this

That being said, I recall a non ‘cable’ version that was several inches shorter. This is back in the day where ‘standards’ weren’t really ‘standards’. The medium was the same, the optical part, it was just the plugs that were different. And for some reason, my memory said I was dealing with this on a work TV, not a home TV, not that it matters.

Aha. I think this is what I solved it with. Many years ago, mind you, I could be misremembering
