No Dolby 5.1 with Disney+

Hi team

I recently bought a Beam Gen 2 but have noticed that when watching Disney+ content via the app on my TV that content does not play the audio as Dolby 5.1 even though the show or movie says it supports in in the details tab. Standard broadcast TV and Prime plays in 5.1 but not Disney+.

Has anyone else encounter this or know how to rectify it?

It’s a Panasonic 43” FX600. It must support 5.1 and 5.2 because I can play that through my Beam Gen 2 with just standard broadcast TV and Amazon Prime as well as through my PS5 and Xbox. It’s just Disney+ where it reverts back to Stereo PCM.

According to this, Disney+ doesn’t support 5.1 audio on the FX model TVs.

When you play Avengers: Endgame on Disney+, what audio format is displayed in the Sonos app? What model TV do you have?

The app says “Stereo PCM” when playing any Disney+ content regardless if the movie/show supports 5.1.

Hmmm. Seems a bit odd but I guess it is just down to the app not supporting those audio formats for my specific model of TV.
