I set up a Beam in its own Sonos room. This is attached to the TV. I would like to move it to a Sonos room which contains 2 Play 1’s. These are in the same physical room as the TV/Beam. I have grouped them but can’t find the right mix for clear dialogue from the TV. I want to Trueplay the three components as a set but don’t believe I can do that for a group.
It seems as if I can’t then use the Beam+Play 1’s to play music from a CD player that’s accessed through Line in. Is that correct?

That’s an altogether different question from your original post. But, no, you can’t connect a CD player unless you have a Sonos device in the system that offers an analog Line-In: Port/Connect, Amp/Connect:Amp or Five/Play:5.
The sensible option is to rip your CDs to network-accessible storage and have Sonos play the digital files directly. You can then bin the CD player.
The CD player runs through a Connect. I’ve always accessed it in the app through line in but maybe it can be recognized as its own source?

“Its own source”? Any Line-In can be played on any player (or group of players) in the system. That’s the way third party devices (other than a TV) feed audio into Sonos,
So, I had success. I reset the beam and the 2 Play1’s to factory settings, set them all up in one room as a play bar and two surrounds, Trueplayed them and it sounds great.
Then I played a cd through the the same room set up and no problem.
In addition to wanting to play cd’s in the cd player, I occasionally play vinyl on the turntable which is also output through the Connect.
I think my confusion came from misinterpreting that line-in would be disabled on the speaker used as a surround to mean that the line-in function would disabled as a source for the system.
Thanks for your quick responses.
