Hi all - browsed really old versions of similar threads but none of the options work for me - I have a 2021 LG 55” OLED TV - I follow all the instructions but obviously cannot push the “power” button on my magic remote to configure it as it switches off the TV - hitting the volume buttons brings up the mute sign but the volume does not change. I do have different menu options to what are described here but more or less I can get to choosing optical blue tooth sound bar and then philips (I do not have sonos as a choice). Anyone else that has struggled have a magical answer?
Have you tried the Playbar remote setup with the TV in standby - I read somewhere the magic remote will revert to infrared when TV is off… not sure if it will work, but perhaps worth a try.

Tried this Ken and it doesn’t work - the play bar says it has set up the remote - but when the TV is switched on the volume button flashes but nothing happens - instinctively it makes sense that if the magic remote returns to RF when the TV is on that this solution would not work.
Where you mention setting up the universal remote (device connector) with the LG TV and can only see Philips, can you go back to that screen on your TV and see if there is a search option and if so, see what happens if you search for Sonos as a manufacturer. I have the older C9 TV and that is what I did to get it to work, although nowadays I use an Arc and HDMI-CEC instead - if no joy, then see what happens when you select the Philips remote, as technically speaking any (universal) IR remote should work with the Playbar.
Hi All
Thanks Ken, think your suggestions helped and I have resolved the problem. With the TV switched off I set up the magic remote on the sonos app. One press and it said Ok remote set up - before I had then been trying to set up a Philips remote which was not working as I did not realise that the list of soundbars that came up was not exhaustive and I could not see SONOS as an option. The search bar is not obvious but when you know there is one you go DUH! Searching gave me the sonos option - I selected it and now it works - yay! Thanks Ken
