I have a new gen 2 beam and cannot discern any difference when the speech enhancement is on or off.

It should work. The enhancement isn’t dramatically different, but you should notice a slight improvement in dialog clarity with Speech Enhancement enabled.

While I don’t have a Beam, I’ll concur that the difference is slight, for my ears, but we all have different hearing, too.
