Like many people, my Beam blocks my TV’s IR sensor, making controlling the TV difficult.

How would I use an IR repeater to fix that problem?

The repeaters I see for sale have a USB connector, but the Beam does not.

Hi @FloydianSlip, sorry for the late response, thank you for reaching out and welcome to the community.

The beam has no IR repeater, nor we can attach one to the beam.

Even though the beam doesn’t have an IR repeater. It can send IR commands to the TV through the HDMI-ARC connection.

CEC must be enabled as well on the TV for the beam to be the IR receiver of the TV.

If your beam is connected with the optical adaptor to your TV. The best we could do is to prop up the TV.

If you have other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

CEC?

Hi @FloydianSlip, thanks for the reply.

CEC means Consumer Electronics Control.

Simply having the CEC enabled in the TV settings, allows the TV and Beam to communicate with each other on an ARC-HDMI connection.

While with an optical connection, the Beam is just receiving commands from the TV.
