Hi

I am new to Sonos and I am trying to connect my TV to Sonos Arc and Sonos Amp/4 ceilings speakers.
I had bought Sonos Amp and 4 ceiling speakers and connected it to my LG TV. The ceiling speakers worked fine but I could not hear the TV speakers. I read on this community that if I get a Sonos Arc, I can connect it to the TV with HDMI Arc cable and it can wirelessly connect to the amp and ceiling speakers. So, today I got the Sonos Acr too but I am only able to hear from the Arc and not from the ceiling speakers. I called the Sonos Support team and they said I need to have both Arc and my Amp connected to my router via LAN.

Can anyone kindly help me to confirm if LAN is required? If not, could you please guide me how to get both of them working with my TV.

thanks

Adeel

Here are instructions for the newer Amp…

If it’s the older Connect:Amp then see this link instead…

The Arc connects to your TV’s HDMI ARC port. The Amp will communicate wirelessly to the Arc when you add it as surrounds in the Sonos app. To add the Amp as surrounds to the Arc, follow the instructions in this article:

NOTE: You can only add two surround channels in a Sonos home theater setup, so even though you have four speakers wired to the Amp, the same two left and right surround channels will play out of both pairs of speakers.

Thanks @GuitarSuperstar. I have connected my Arc to Amp but there is still no sound coming from the surround speakers. Is there any particular setting I need to do. I have added a picture from my app to show the setting.

many thanks in advance.

@Adeel,
You probably need to play Dolby surround sound audio from the TV, rather than just a PCM stereo source.

To quickly test the speakers are working however, goto the Arc ‘room’ in ‘Settings/System’ in the Sonos App and select ‘Surround Audio’ and switch the music playback setting from ‘Ambient’ to ‘Full’ and then play some music to the Arc from the Sonos App and check that all the speakers are outputting the music audio.
