Can I connect my google tv box to my Sonos system?

Not directly. You connect it to your TV, and then from the TV to a Sonos soundbar (or possibly from the TV to an Era 300 by Bluetooth). But only the TV can connect with Sonos, not a set-top box or similar.
The good news is the google remote will control sonos soundbar volume and any surrounds or subs bonded to it, even when playing music thro sonos app, so you have a sonos volume remote as well
