So I’m putting together a sonos surround… I have a pair of ones for my rear and a gen 3 sub. I’m going to buy the arc for my center/fronts. I was wondering if you could setup a surround without having to plug anything into the arc?

Can it all work wireless?  Down the road if I had a projector would I need audio plugged in or could the Apple TV airplay to the surround?

Any information would be helpful.

You’ll need a wired HDMI connection for the surround audio associated with video. You could use a wireless Arc or an Airplay connection for stereo audio.

It’s messy, but it is possible to split the HDMI and send video to the projector and audio to Arc.

Couldn’t Airplay from the ATV be used for sound? Or would this lead to lip sync issues or not work in a surround set up?

Airplay is stereo on Sonos: no surround support.

I appreciate the help. I wonder if they’ll ever add some type of wireless support.

Unlikely: wireless is a poor solution for multi-channel audio if you want to keep it in sync with video, which is usually highly desirable.
