Any plans of allowing a sonos speaker to be configured as a dedicated atmos height speaker?

Sonos doesn’t announce devices in advance, generally speaking, with very rare exceptions. Usually, it’s just slightly before release (see the Beam Gen 2) in order to capitalize on the marketing push, IMHO, but not long enough to tip their hand to competitors.

@rabid Don’t get your hopes up. If Sonos doesn’t allow a speaker to be configured as a center channel, don’t expect them to allow a speaker to be configured as a height channel. Remember… Sonos’ brand is about less speakers and less wires while still producing great sound.

There is a better chance of Sonos selling a Sonos One type speaker with an upward firing driver so it could be used with an Arc or Beam (Gen 2) to support and help sell more of their two Dolby Atmos soundbars.
