Connect:AMP as Surround Sound without hardwire network

The first instruction for setting this up says:
"Wire both the Sonos home theater speaker and Connect:Amp to either your router, a single network switch, or to each other, using an Ethernet cable."
My network connection is on the lower level and the TV I want to set up surround sound is on the second level where there is no ethernet. What options do I have (other than running a network cable up through the wall) do I have? Thank you

None, unfortunately. The “hack” that Sonos created to make this work requires an Ethernet connection.

You could replace the speakers that you want to use as surround speakers with PLAY:1s, though.

I guess the alternative is to move the cable modem and router up to the living room. Ugh. Thank you for the reply!

It can also be wired direct to the playbar if you have a way to do that instead.

That’s the “to each other” part that the OP already quoted 😉
