I have an LG A1 so similar to your C1. I have a Panasonic UB159 which I think is a Uk model and I get either Dolby Atmos or PCM surround sound for DTS disks. The Panasonic wasn’t too expensive and if I remember correctly, I had to go into its settings to set the DTS setting to pass through (or something like that). I also have the TV set to pass through. Works fine. If you want more detailed settings just ask and I will put the player on to check how I have it set up. The only thing I notice about DTS disks using PCM surround is they’re a bit quieter than Dolby disks

Interesting. You’re able to get DTS output as LPCM 5.1 and not just PCM Stereo?
Yes I am. It shows as 7.1 PCM in the Sonos app but that's a silly LG thing and does output the correct 5.1 even though it says 7.1. It's late here in the UK now but if you like, I can put my telly and player on tomorrow and let you know my settings?

Please do! Thanks!
No probs. Will post tomorrow my Blu-ray and TV audio settings for you . Bear in mind the player settings are for Panasonic but may help for your Sony player
Set your Blu-ray player to these audio settings:
Digital Audio Output: PCM (for DTS discs), Auto (for Dolby discs)
BD Secondary Audio: Off
Audio DRC: Off
Set the LG to these settings:
Digital Sound Output: Pass Through
HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream
eARC Support: On

Perfect - those are also my settings
Thanks to you both, I’ll try again with the Sony X700 and these settings just to confirm it’s truly not working and then try a Panasonic.
One weird thing I noticed last night that may be helpful to other people: after getting frustrated I went back and watched a (non-Dolby Vision) 4k disc (with an Atmos soundtrack) on my PS5 but I was not getting Atmos no matter what I did, and just super weird behavior. I ended up power cycling both the LG TV and Sonos Arc and that made everything work correctly. I’m guessing there was some handshaking stuff that got messed up while I was fiddling with settings, so a good reminder to consider rebooting periodically while you’re doing this troubleshooting.
When I was looking at Arcana I'm sure I saw one with 3 or 4 inputs? But I suppose you would still have to use that as a switch (maybe worth a look on their website?).
I bought a Samsung UBD-M9500, converts DTS on the fly to Dolby Digital but it's HDR not Dolby Vision.
I suspect you’re remembering the “Vroom” product.
Feintech makes a product, hard to get in the US, but available in the EU, my understanding is.
Using the settings GuitarSuperstar provided I was initially unable to get any sound on a DTS-HD disc with my Sony X700M (tested with the Criterion release of The Last Waltz on 4k as well as the Heat 4k). However, once I tried the “unplug the TV for a few seconds” trick I was getting Multichannel PCM 5.1 displayed on my Sonos app! Volume sounded good, the rear speakers were engaged appropriately, overall sounded as good to me as playing DTS discs through the PS5.
I confirmed sound playback continued through swapping discs as well as through doing a “soft” power cycle of the devices (turning them off with the power buttons on the remote, not unplugging them). It’s super goofy but I guess this is a workaround -- if DTS randomly stops working in the future I guess I just unplug the TV for a few seconds while playing the disc and plug it back in. I hate that this is an actual fix but there you go.
Final update: I got the Panasonic DP-UB820-K and it’s great! I set the audio output for DTS to PCM and left Dolby at Auto (TV settings the same: input is bitstream, eARC enabled, output is Pass Through) and everything works as expected. I get Dolby Atmos from Atmos discs, I get Multichannel PCM from DTS discs. I didn’t have to mess around with unplugging the TV or anything goofy.
I am getting Multichannel PCM 7.1 from 7.1 DTS tracks which as mentioned upthread is a Sonos issue (weirdly the Sony player was outputting the same tracks as PCM 5.1). Not having to manually switch audio output (or turn Dolby Vision on/off) is a huge upgrade from the Sony.
So for anyone else with an LG C1 and a Sonos Arc who wants a 4k player with Dolby Vision support, I’d highly recommend the Panasonic UB820.
Hi,
I have recently bought a LG C1 TV and want to buy a Panasonic UB820 to watch Blu rays (a lot of which will be older ones with DTS audio types). I also would like to get a Sonos Arc.
I understand that you can set the UB820 to do the DTS to PCM conversion that Sonos understands but lots of people seemed to have issues with this signal not getting through the TV to the Sonos.
It seems from other forums that LG addressed this issue with the CX tvs and the last message here suggests it has also been fixed on the C1 but I just wanted someone specifically with these three pieces of equipment to confirm that they can play e.g. DTS-HD blurays through this combination.
I am worried about spending a lot of money (to me) on a system that won't work with most of my Blu ray collection.
Thanks in advance

Is this not enough of a confirmation?
