Beam Samsung 55RU7400 Arc mute no sound when turned on

Since last update, when we turn on the TV, Sky Q box and Beam, there is no sound for a minute or so.

controlling the volume, mute, input etc makes no difference, there is just no sound. It as if the volume is on minimum or on mute.

then suddenly it will just start to play sound from the TV.

i have tried changing from music to tv and back, music plays, just not the TV sound.

wife is swearing a lot 😖

just suddenly started with the latest software update, there has since been a Samsung update, but this did not fix it and there had not been a Samsung or sky update before this.

the only update was Sonos.

Finally think this is fixed after doing a lot of testing the only common thing was the TV, specifically HDMI input.

 

Samsung sent out an engineer who replaced the main board in the TV and since then it has been fine.

 

no one seems to have seen this before. So just posting what fixed it for me.

 

The same problem happened through the TV speakers, via Optical and ARC.

 

tried different sky boxes, different HDMI cables, always the same.

 

main board swap and it now seems to be ok
