Am I correct in saying that if your TV does not support DD5.1 pass through with HDMI (the majority of TV's) then you will only get PCM Stereo with HDMI ARC on the Beam? Cheers.

Many (mostly older) TVs don't support DD5.1 through optical... I'd be very surprised if most didn't support DD5.1 through HDMI-ARC though. But yes, if for some reason the TV doesn't pass DD5.1 through HDMI-ARC, then you'd likely end up with PCM stereo.
