Hi,

I just got the Beam, Sub and (2) One SL

 

I have a Samsung Series6 6300 TV and had to connect via optical audio. HDMI wouldn’t work.

I’ve tried to connect my apple tv remote to control the volume on the beam and have used my TV remote as a new remote for the apple tv and have read my apple tv remote is supposed to control the beam but it’s not working.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my apple tv remote to control the volume?

On your AppleTv go to

Settings > Remote and Devices > Control TVs and Receivers > On

Volume Control > Learn New Device (This is your TV remote which you have already setup with your Beam)


According to the Best Buy specs on the 75 inch version, it does have an ARC port (HDMI), so the ARC connection should be working, assuming you have CEC turned on, and the Beam is connected to the port labeled ARC. 


I just checked and I have anynet+ turned on, but still no luck with HDMI or apple tv remote volume ability.

 

 


Two separate and unrelated issues.

I’d double check that the TV set’s software is up to date, then I’d reboot it, by unplugging it from the wall for five minutes, then plugging it back in. Wouldn’t hurt to, at the same time, power cycle the Beam.

Might be worth double checking that the HDMI cable between the TV and the Beam is in the correct HDMI port, there is normally only one that is labeled as ARC, but looks exactly the same as all the other ports.

I had to send the Beam back it was sending an Error per Sonos. So hopefully the replacement Beam eliminates all of this lol. But we’ll see.
