Adding Gen 3 Sub to existing setup

Hello,

I have the S1 controller to operate my older Sonos setup (playbar, 2 x play 1 as surrounds) with a Bridge and Connect (for my vinyl record player).  I want to add the new Gen 3 Subwoofer however when I try and upgrade to the S2 app, it says that the sub will not work with the connect/bridge I have.  Is there a workaround or is this not going to affect my system at all.

I have an ecobee and use Alexa to play throughout the house and want to make sure I’m not wasting 1000.00 on a sub that won’t work well

Thanks and happy listening!!

First get rid of the Bridge, they are obsolete and prone to causing problems. Go WiFi if possible, wire any main speaker, or pick up a Boost only if you must.

Check the S1 / S2 compatibility list here and see which release each of your Sonos requires. If you can get the ones you want on the same system you should be good.

The Bridge is S1 only but the S½ choice depends on the Connect’s generation.
