Was looking to pickup two refurbished play 1's to pair with my playbase. Anyone has any experience if this is worth the 250 odd dollars this would cost me? This is for the bedroom and its a mix of 70% TV and 30% music.
No plans to buy a sub(out of my price range)

I would say it's worth it. That's $100 off retail. Even if used in a different room as stereo pair it's good.
I lived for a year before purchasing a SUB for my system. Never had an issue with the quality of the sound.
