Hello,

I have had pairs of Sony and Bose and AirPods Max. The Sonys and Bose give off this really annoying popping sound when going over bumps in the car. I know this is unfortunately common in some ANC headphones, but I am in the car a ton and the noise bothers my ears. Does the Sonos Ace do this?? if not I will return my Bose and get them. The AirPods Max do NOT do this and I’ve had them for 3 years.

Thank you!

I get a popping noise when jumping out a window with mine

.

I don't know if it's across the board, but my Ace's are horrible when using the bus. I'm going to be submitting a warranty claim today as it's virtually unbearable and 80% of my use case is while I'm on the bus. So much popping/rattling when the bus rattles. My old Bose QC25's never did this. My AirPod Pros are much nicer to use on the bus...

I wonder if the head seal is briefly broken in response to the bump -- creating an apparent large change in the noise analyzed by the headphone signal processor and the noise is a response to this. As an experiment, increase the head seal with a headband or some tape. You could use your hands if you are a passenger.

I would try using my hands to test however I feel like I would look like a massive numpty and get a few looks! The headphones feel tight enough, they don’t slip or anything like that and I’d rather not employ a botch job to get them to work properly. It’s a shame as I do really like them but they’re practically unusable for me in a day to day scenario.

Well coincidentally enough the Sonos App prompted an update for my headphones yesterday (I'd already checked a few days ago). Did the update and happy to say the issue is a lot better. It must've been that the ANC wasn't processing out the sounds of the rattling in the bus. It's not perfect but definitely a lot better on the way home from work yesterday and travelling back in just before. Am a happy camper again...
