I'm thinking about buying the Sonos ACE.
In advance I want to clarify one thing - when I use the TV Audio Swap is it still possible to use the soundbar as well or is the sound only on the headphones?
I find the ambient noise annoying when I watch a film, but my roommates also want to watch the film. But it wouldn't make sense if they couldn't hear anything.

This is an Sonos-acknowledged feature request (often requested by the hard-of-hearing who want to enjoy film/TV with better sound clarity alongside their family/partner). When - and if - it will materialise is not known.
Sonos traditionally doesn’t give information about future plans and upcoming features. But they take a close look on user requested features. And the one you are talking about is requested very often since Ace release.
So if there are no technical problems I can imagine they try working on it.
Butnas you might know at the moment working on the new app has got high priority, so new features probably would take some more time.

I would imagine Sonos’ newest and most commercially important product would have its own team of developers working on optimisation, fixes, and improvements, working to their own update roll-out. (I’m fairly sure the Ace updates don’t always tally with the app and firmware update timings.) So I would be hopeful for often-requested features being implemented early on.
I wish so too… but on one hand „early“ is quite subjective and on the other hand I‘m not sure how workflow at the moment looks like at Sonos.

LOL… hope never dies! And I like lottery games. 
I thought I read that if the Ace was allowed to become a separate room, so to speak, the battery life would be greatly reduced. Seems to me making the Ace a separate speaker would be the only way to accomplish what is being suggested here.
Not sure I agree. All that's being asked for here is that instead of the Arc or Beam going silent when the sound is swapped to the Ace, it just keeps playing.
Not sure if the Sonos soundbar is doing Bluetooth to the Ace. Don’t really know how the swap process works. Also don’t know if the Ace & soundbar would be in sync when both were on. Does anyone know how swap works?
I know the newer BlueSound Nodes are Bluetooth two way but I don’t own one to see if it goes silent when sending Bluetooth to headphones.
