Sonos ace - unable to connect in app settings

My Sonos Ace is working via BT without issues. Connecting it to the latest android version of the Sonos app. It took more than 5 attempts to add the ace within the app, but at least I was able to change the settings.

So audio swap with Arc is working within the android app, so far so good.

 

But after shutting things down, I am not able to find a way to get the ace active in the app. It shows the ace as a device, but within the settings it's grayed out. Tried a lot of combinations (first app started, then ace on, etc). But I probably didn't find the golden sequence).

 

Any tips or suggestions?
