I thought Sonos Ace headphones were compatible with the Sonos system. I want to listen to my CD and phono, which are connected via ports, using the Ace headphones. Not polssible say Sonos. I can’t even listen to my Sonos music library! These headphones are worthless. I can’t believe they are not compatible my Sonos system. Disclaimers should be made by Sonos. Now I’m getting grief about returning them. Very unhappy Sonos user.
I’d expect you were angry, when you assumed something without checking to see if it was true.
Fortunately, I’m able to connect to my Sonos Ace using Bluetooth from my phone, and while I don’t have access to my Sonos playlists, I can play any other stream I chose.
You could just buy a Bluetooth transmitter and connect that to the Port so you can listen on Ace.
My info came directly from Sonos.
The bluethtooth transmitter is one more device and will lower sound quality. High and low end dropout. Not a good audio quality solution.
It’s inexcusable that the Sonos Headphones are not compatible with the Sonos system.

Sonos won’t recommend any Bluetooth transmitters but that doesn’t prevent them from working. You can still get lossless depending on the transmitter you use.
It’s hardly a secret Ace do not connect to your Sonos system like other speakers to stream music. Surprised you were unaware of this limitation given that it has been discussed numerous times since the Ace launch 6mths ago and mentioned in press reviews.
Did not know. The Sonos tech did not know it immediately either. Took about 10 minutes to discover they won’t work. Not very transparent,
Buyer beware.
Buyer beware.
Do you mean Buyer be aware? … I thought everyone that ‘knows’ Sonos was already aware of the Ace capabilities after all the discussions online and media reviews, including it’s support for Qualcomm Snapdragon’s Bluetooth Apt-X lossless and HD audio…
The main points for me though, are the excellent noise cancelling features, TV Audio Swap and Spatial Audio head tracking for music and TV audio. That said, I do use an Apt-X HD BT transmitter with my Sonos Port, linked to the Ace, to listen to all the services available in the Sonos App on my Ace, including Sonos Radio.
Thanks for the info. Sonos needs to print a disclaimer with the product.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a list of things that a pair of headphones will not do. Usually a companies marketing strategy is to adhere to the things that they can do - it’s likely down to your research if you make certain assumptions that prove not to be the case.
That’s where reviews of a product, at launch, are often really helpful …and goodness knows there’s been an awful lot of those from a ton of media outlets, as far as the Ace is concerned, particularly as it was Sonos’ first step into this new area of business. I truly don’t know how you could have missed all the chat online about the Ace, prior to making your own purchase.
