I’ve had the Ace headphones since the day it came out and have not really experienced any problems.

Ever since version 3.1.4 i’ve been having issues with the Microphone Volume. While using video conferencing software my microphone volume significantly drops and people on the other end are not able to hear me. It’s also erratic, sometimes I can be on a call for 30 seconds and it immediately drops out, other times I can be on multiple calls and it only drops out after 5 minutes.

I’ve factory reset the headphones, which makes it work for a few calls - but then it immediately starts reducing the volume again. Its almost as though the background noise filter is picking up my voice and trying to cancel it out.

It’s gotten so bad that I cannot use the mic on the headphones anymore and I have to use my laptop or webcamera microphone.

Is this a known issue, and do we know when this will be rectified?

I’m using a Mac

Hello @Alconic, welcome back!

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues with the microphone volume on the Sonos Ace gradually dropping while using a Mac.

Thank you for reporting this to us. We are investigating the issue and do not currently have an ETA on when this will be fixed.

Are you using Bluetooth? Do you experience the same issue if your Sonos Ace is wired with a USB-C to your Mac?

I will make sure to reply here if there is an update in regards to this issue.

I hope this helps.

I have not tried with a wired connection, my configuration does not allow a wired connection unfortunately.

I started having the same issue today when I was on various calls/meetings.  It happened on different meeting software so not just Zoom but others also.

I am using my Ace headphones connected via bluetooth to my Surface laptop and to my Iphone.

I found that if I went into the volume settings and just played with them (up/down) for a few seconds the issue would resolve for the rest of that call but then happened again on a later call.
