As the title says, I’m interested in them as an alternative to the Apple Headphones which are too much for headphones that are several years old.
But for headphones, I want to listen to them before I’d consider paying for them. Is it sold at retail so I can try without buying them?

Yeah Best Buy sells them. They have them on display where I live. But YMMV
