I’m sorry to have to disagree. Both problems could also be looked at in an other way. I for one am glad the Sonos One plug is a snug fit, that will not slip out easily. In every circumstance I’ve had to unplug it, it was unplugged without pain. As I recall there’s even a recess sou you can place your fingers to pull the plug out.
Also for me it is not a big bother that a speaker remains visible on my account when I’ve sold and the new owner has not activated it yet. I actually can’t remember I’ve looked at what device where registered to my account.
Yep, we’ll agree to disagree then. This is a consumer product, that’s marketed as an easy plug in, app set up and play. No tools required. Not the case. Manatee, MANY other customers are in agreement with my assessment (did you visit the Reddit link I shared?). But I’m not here to convince you. If you have the strength to pull out that plug with your bare fingers, congratulations. Most of us aren’t.
As for removing a speaker from your account, again I completely disagree with your opinion. The only way around this is to “hide” The device until it gets dropped eventually. That’s a BAD user experience, 106rallye. A large tech company like Sonos knows better. In fact a rep from the company has reached to me directly to get more info.
Maybe you should expand on your post and provide legitimate reasons why you prefer it the way it is. Right now I see no positives, just minor details Sonos should and WILL address.
Hmmm. Eight posts on reddit, six agreeing with you. Hundreds of thousands of speakers sold. Not to ridicule you, but this does not spell “major” problem to me, especially since most users never need to remove the the plug. As posted before I rather have a snug fitting plug that will not ever fall out than a plug that is easier to remove but needs to be pressed in every once in a while - and, as stated, my One’s plugs are easily removed.
Speakers on your system will be removed after some time (not sure but I do not remember reading it was weeks). Are you really that bothered about a speaker showing up as missing on your system for a little while after you’ve sold it? This is just a list of speakers, right? Temporarily misrepresenting your system, OK, but a “BAD” user experience to me is something else. And remember - as you rightly state - they can even be hidden. If the speaker is not sold but temporarily out of use, the speaker still being on the system probably makes it easier to connect to once you plug it in again. So maybe this is “not a fault, but a feature”.
A speaker that is not reactivated will remain on your account, but is it that “BAD” that a speaker is still mentioned on a page almost none visits - especially since you could possibly even use it to get a discount on new Sonos devices (though that would not be very nice to the person you’ve sold it to that did not use it). And I remember reading here that Sonos will remove the speaker from your list on request.
You have the right to your opinion of course, but I’d rather see Sonos taking time to solve the 65k limit or make SVC learn different languages……
I have no opinion on whether the One's cable fits too tightly. This is for two reasons;
1. It is too trivial a matter to give any thought to.
2. In approximately 8 years of using Play:1s I have never yet needed to remove the power cord.
Perhaps those points are really identical.
