I very VERY rarely feel the need to post negative reviews for products…it’s just usually not my vibe. However, I am so utterly confused as to how a company such as Sonos could even remotely allow and approve release of this catastrophe of an app. I mean just HOW? I would imagine that any app overhauls should go through extensive testing over at LEAST several weeks before being released. Obviously not this one lol. It’s been almost 3 months now and it’s still virtually unusable to me. Even simply using it to control my TV volume is laughably ridiculous. I can’t have both my Playbase and Kitchen speaker playing at the same time anymore, and in order for me to adjust volume on my Playbase, I first have to physically change the volume using my Roku controller FIRST …then go back to the god awful volume slider on in the app. I also dare not tap on the “apply” button after selecting speakers as that still turns EVERYTHING off and I have to start everything all over again. The company is very well aware that this absurdly massive failure is still making users want to throw their speakers out a 2nd story window….so wouldn’t you think they would offer a simple way to revert back to the old app until they undo this app apocalypse? But Nooooo…sorry, can’t even do that simple rollback! At this point I am convinced that Sonos leadership somehow someway must WANT to sink this company, because the decisions that continue to be made are not those of business savvy, bright, insightful minds. I’m pretty sure any middle schooler in a business or economics class would have been better able to problem solve and at least do damage control after this meltdown. For me, it’s just too little l, too late. Why as a longtime customer should I be expected to twiddle my thumbs and wait months and months for a working product? I am currently researching appropriate replacement options….and once I decide which route to go, every Sonos product in my house (a Playbase and about 8 other various speakers, an amp etc) are going straight to marketplace at bargain basement prices. Sonos….it was a fun marriage while it lasted….but consider this a divorce!
