hi.

i am currently looking to replace a 20yo bose 5.1 setup…

my tv sits on top of living room furniture.

the tv is sitting high. i was hoping it would be ok to mount the sonos arc above the tv. our seating is the normal couch and chair setup.

how bad would sound quality be with it being mounted so high? I do not have the option of putting it anywhere else at this time…

thanks...joe

Hi @voodooevil, welcome to the Sonos community, and thanks for reaching out to us. Let me help you with this.

Placing your Sonos speakers to the right location can achieve its best sound and wireless connection. The Sonos Arc has two up-firing speakers within it that sound best when positioned either on a tabletop, or wall-mounted below a TV. Also, Arc requires a minimum of 5.5 inches on the front and sides of it, with at least 2 inches between the backside of Arc and the TV when in a tabletop orientation. If wall-mounting, it is recommended to have a clearance of at least 5.5 inches between the TV and Arc.

You can adjust the balance and loudness of your speaker in the Sonos app, and tune it via Trueplay. Trueplay measures how sound reflects off walls, furnishings, and other surfaces in a room, then fine-tunes your Sonos speaker to make sure it sounds great no matter where you've placed it.

We can wait for suggestions and feedback from our Sonos community users about changing the height and changing the angle of the unit to the ideal sitting location You may also contact our Sales specialists for further assistance.

Hope this information helps.
