SONOS WHY!!

 

How have they released a long awaited update, and somehow managed to downgrade the whole system?? 

I will name a few of the features that were available on the previous app, that have now been taken away: Alarm, add a song to the que, add a song to the end of the que, rearrange the tracks that are currently playing, remove a track from the que, SLEEP TIMER

These are some of the major notices that I have experiences. Why why why??? These features were the pinnacle for me using the whole Sonos system. My whole routine has to be changed now, I can't even sleep whilst my sound system is on, because I have to turn the music off manually, which is SO inconvenient, I don't mean to sound like your typical Karen, but cmon I can't be the only experiencing these issues :(

Whilst typing this message I checked for an update on the app, and there was one available, and now miraculously the alarm feature has popped up, and I definitely know it wasn't there before, so this update must've added the feature back.

For anyone wondering, my version is update is: 80.00.05-release+20240510.78d060b 

And to find the alarm setting...

> Settings > Manage (next to 'Your System') > Alarms (under 'About My System') and Bob's your uncle! Should be there, well it was for me, just make sure you are on the version I labelled above.

Anyhow, Sonos Support, I hope someone from your internal team gets back to me, am not just saying this, but many of your users will leave for other systems, you're supposed to be the 'designer' of the sound world, and your system updates are absolutely garbage, please for the love of God bring these features back.

In regards to the actual UI of the app, does feel a lot smoother, but could also be updated, I feel Sonos has released this update way way way too soon, change your UI developers, or whichever manager authorised the release of this update, appalling work Sonos, so very disappointed, I currently own two Sonos Arcs, and was on my way to purchase the surround sound package, for both my living room and front room, but now I am reconsidering, and maybe considering finding a new system that's not Sonos, cus this is appalling.

I’m a Sonos dealer at our home theater shop in Hutchinson, KS.  The Sonos platform (other than this horrible update) had generally been one of my “Go To’s” for customers. 
From a retail standpoint they are one of the more selfish brands on electronics we sell. No Margin whatsoever - and when the 20% off deal comes around for people, anyone can get any Sonos product cheaper than an authorized DIRECT dealer can even buy it for. 
I’m throughly disappointed with Sonos all together as a company. 


This is insane. 
you cannot simply search a song and have it play next while keeping the same queue. Or Just adding it to the queue. I did this at parties or when hosting all the time. 
so disappointed. I was out tonight and the people I got into Sonos all hate it. Stunning they would launch this. 


So glad I don’t have automatic updates on my PC, so at least my system is functional … for now


Absolute GARBAGE. My favorite part (if you can even get

it to work) is listening to songs for a minute and 20

seconds before it changes songs again. Get your act together….what an absolute pathetic “update”.


Whi designs these upgrades.  The screen shows liked songs right in the middle of my s reen.  If I wanted to listen to the same songs over and over I'd listen to the radio.  Before someone talks about customization I'm not going to try again until their software is more stable.  Half the time my system won't show up.  I know people get bitchy with upgrades but I don't know where you are headed as you keep changing things and not always for the better.  Who do you listen to.  This roll out is on the top two worst and this is number 1 in too soon to release.  There should be some frank discussions about what happened and PROBABLY the executive who wouldn't listen needs to be identified  I thought about buying another speak but I am on hold.

I have to agree 100%. I hate to complain, but my music is important to me and this update, how trivial it may sound, made me angry. Nothing works like it did prior to this update. It sucks to say the very least. Obviously the persons responsible for the update/release don't use the product or care. I thought Sonos was considered elite? 

I bypassed Sonos altogether and linked my speakers directly to Pandora.  I get my music but nothing else.  No radio stations or Sleep sounds.


Entirely agree with everyone..how do possibly call this an upgrade?? 
Have only a few albums under Sonos Favourites but can’t add any more because the Favourites are full!

Numerous times trying to play an album or anything it says something went wrong..the previous system worked superbly to be replaced with this garbage! Clearly Sonos never heard the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Also annoyingly forces my devices into the upgrade as won’t let them run S1!!!! Railroaded into rubbish!

 

 


This update (if you can call it that) is an abomination!

100% agree. a horrendous update that is harder to use and doesn’t work as well. Sort it out Sonos


I have owned Sonos for over 10 years. This is the worst update! You should be ashamed SONOS!


We’ve been using Sonos since they hit the market. One of the best features was ease of use. This latest update completely changed that. I can barely control the system anymore.


I agree with many that the update of Sonos is terrible beyond!!! Who did they hire to do such a crap job of the interface and navigation!!! Honestly, makes me hate the Sonos system! Managing alarms with playlists is awful!


Did ANYONE beta test this update? Awful.
