Sonos’s original and primary selling point was ability to stream all your own music wirelessly throughout your devices and speakers.

This app update has ENTIRELY rejected that and the customers who came to Sonos for that.

  • Years worth of playlists to my music library DELETED!  That is effed up.  Those curated playlists took a lot of effort and time.
  • Cannot create and edit playlists as a collection of songs from different albums/artists
  • Search DOES NOT work for your music library.  It only works with existing services.  How do I find a song among 20000 without searching?
  • Queue only works with services.  Can no longer edit it
  • I used alarms extensively to automatically turn on stations in different rooms at different times.  GONE

All of this points to Sonos deliberately trying to force users into only using streaming services and demoting and in some cases eliminating use of your own library.

Please allow reverting to the old app and give me back my frickin stuff!

I have no use for Sonos products now - anyone want them?  I’ll go find a product that cares about customers.

This is an absolute mess—what used to be a flawless service is awful now. I upgraded and on my IPad-it doesnt load any content and is barely usable, my iPhone works a little better but my Imported library is gone somewhere and my desktop just doesnt work at all. When it does work, It seems to play on whatever speakers in various rooms at its choosing, not mine.  This is a travesty….

They say this on Twitter

Got my desktop working though it randomly stops working with a room/speakers and then starts again.

My IPad and iPhone are nearly useless so far….trying to stay on it through the forums and FAQ’s but what a pain. Im going to have another drink first.

None of my Sonos speakers show up in the new app. SMH

I 100% agree. They are cutting off a vast majority of market share with disposable income to buy or update multiple products in a home. Statically 94% of US homeowners are over age 30. Which means at age 30, you’ve had at least 10 years of their life buying music on iTunes/CD or downloading onto a platform/file organizer. If someone is buying a home  audio system to play music, chances are they own content they’d like to use. This is vastly different than videos/DVD as rarely do people watch a moving twice or more - but with music that is not the case. You want to be creative in developing and arranging content of music to enjoy for various occasions in the background and soundtrack of our lives.

The world is big enough for all content - streamed or formats that are owned. And that is the largest market share as well.

I get it that the Alarm feature will be coming back, but what can I do about existing Alarms?

The New app lacks some essential features, it is not ready for launch. Sonos should test it further and solve all the problems instead of giving such a hard time to the users.

How can I go back to the old Sonos app?

Sonos has shown us how to create corporate suicide. Change a working product to a non functioning product and remove core functionality at the same time. What IDIOT thought this was a good idea. No more Sonos products, not a dime more for these losers.
