Hi, iam trying to set up a Sonos network, so that a wired play 1 is broadcasting a network for another play 1 wireless, a Move and a Move 2 also both wireless through the S2 app with iPhone. The reason for this, is that every time the 4 speakers are set up I lose 100 mgbs down load speed from my already limited 148 mgbs total speed.

  • Firstly is this possible
  • secondly the support notes to do this are either dated or completely wrong, so can some direction to the correct info if it’s known.
    Many thanks in advance

You can hardwire a single Play 1 to your network and have the second Play 1 connect to ir via Sonosnet, but the moves are not compatible with Sonosnet and will have to stay connected to your WIFI. So leaving them all on WIFI would be the best way to keep them connected.

Four Sonos speakers would not cause you to lose that much speed unless there is something wrong with your network?

Can you share what type of network you have?

What you are describing should not be happening with 148Mbps. There is something else going on with your network. Please describe your network in detail including all hardware and ISP.

BTW…my comments don’t negate advice given by @Pools-3015. However the issue needs to examined further.

Note: Looks like @Pools-3015 edited their post while I was posting 😂

@Handcandy

Thanks for the network information. Unfortunately I’m in the US and not very familiar with SkyQ networking.  Although I have heard (depending upon the configuration) it can be problematic with Sonos. Hopefully someone in the UK will see this thread and offer assistance.  You can also CALL Sonos Tech support for assistance. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
