We recently set up a Sonos system in our living room. 2 300 Sonos speakers, an Arc, Sub & a Port.

We have an issue when streaming Apple Music from either of our iPhones, vintage 11 & 13, that a sound that I can only describe as an Apple notification sound comes through the Arc. It resembles the stock sound you might get when receiving a text or plugging in your phone to charge. Not heard when the TV is playing or when playing the turntable or CD player. I have gone through the sound settings on my phone and turned off most of them. the sound persists when we stream music. Sonos tech has listened to a capture of this issue and heard the sound but offered no fix as of today. Any insight is appreciated

Isn’t this standard Airplay behavior, having phone notification pass through the music?

If the sound corresponds with a phone notification there’s no ‘fix’ that Sonos can apply. The speaker simply plays what it’s sent over AirPlay.

The obvious solution is to play Apple Music directly on the speaker using the Sonos app.

Thank you both. This happens when we use the phone to stream. It happens randomly with AirPlay and Apple music. The sounds are random and not indicative of actually getting a notification on the phones. That is what they sound like tho no emails, texts or other things that trigger phone notifications are actually happening at the time we here these. They are low in volume and do not increase as the music is turned up louder however to completely drown them out requires listing at uncomfortable levels
