Sonos pushed through an update today and ever since I can not listen to any groups of speakers without the warning that I am using a Wi-Fi range extender and can not listen to any group speakers anymore. Individually they all work, one at a time. I don't have a Wi-Fi extender but do have a mesh system, spent an hour with customer service rebooting system, unplugging every speaker, adding an ethernet cable to any speakers in range all with no fix. Finally they suggested that I have to call ASUS and get them to switch my network over to “bridge mode” as the only fix.

It worked fine yesterday and every day before today’s update to 15.2. The CSR even admitted they have never seen the warning code before.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hello @CHowieson and welcome to Sonos Community!

I’ve seen some cases where ASUS equipment was involved and required configuration in order for Sonos to work properly.

Can you please provide us with some additional information regarding your network environment?

What is the model of your router? Can you also please Submit Diagnostics and reply here with the number?

I'm having a similar issue today. Running ubiquiti network hardware. Please let us know if a root cause is published.

Hi

I use an Asus Ai-Mesh consisting of two (2) Zen Pro ET12’s (one as the main) and a GT-AXE11000. All are connected via an Ethernet backhaul

ASUS is not responsible to set your router in Bridge mode. In fact it should not be in “bridge mode” but “wireless router mode”. That would be true for a “wireless backhaul” as well. Your ISP supplied router/modem should be set to bridge mode.

Unless configured correctly (as shown below) you cannot connect a Sonos product (via ethernet) to a node as it may be acting with DHCP authority suppling an IP Address. The same holds true even if the Sonos product connects to the node wirelessly. The Main node should only be in DHCP mode to assign an IP Address.
