(And also under-appreciated)..

Need to connect my iPhone as a second controller and having issues but I will sort it out. The comments from the last six months I read prompt this post.

Long time Sonos user here from the day I walked into Apple and said ‘look I’m not audiophile but I want to walk into every room and listen to my podcasts or music in sync’ and the young man looked me and said ‘oh no we don’t make anything like that’ .

So I started building up my Sonos system and I still have the same one today - 12 years later - don’t laugh - it works great - 3 x play 1; play 3; boost (I don’t use as have lost the plug in cord) and One (gen 2 aka ‘The Mothership’).

Over the years every time I need to know why I can’t:

    • Connect to a new network when I move (and I move a lot);
    • Why it connects but then two days later gets booted off network;
    • Why i can’t connect up a a second device to use as a controller;
    • Who thought that awful brown colour in the first app was a good idea?;
    • What is the difference between wired and wireless,

I hop on to the Sonos community forums and always find my answers; And I fix the issue. Every. single. Time. (Except the colour)

What never ceases to amaze me are the questions posted by people who have oh … say .. ‘10 Sonos speakers, five Google, 3 Bose’, and want it all to connect via Bluetooth and huff and bluster and threaten NEVER to use Sonos again.

Meanwhile a (often retired) Sonos (ex) employee is politely answering your question (which you never listen to because it’s not ‘your fault’.) and continues to answer politely whilst the poster gets more belligerent and obnoxious and know it all (ugh).

I have to say I don’t know how Sonos puts up with all the whinging..

Honestly if I a, older contracts lawyer living in an island at the bottom of the world with no training or time and with the above mentioned products can get her system working then I’m sure the rest of you can.

A big shout out to the people who day after day make the effort (whether as part of their jobs or not) to help the pretty rude whingers who never seem to say thanks or come back to say if they had success or not(of course they did!)

Just felt like putting this out there ..

Now off to try and connect my phone as a second controller. Having problems. And I know it’s the phone not SONOS!

thanks responders for all your help.

Well said, @Roaming

I suspect your comments will shortly be challenged though!
