I just read an article in the Verge and the piece quoted Sonos patting themselves on the back and saying how “courageous” they were for taking “bold” new steps with their app update. Well, that is certainly a perspective, if not one based in reality. They also said customers who expected them to make the old app available would be disappointed. Wow. Just…wow. The amount of hubris it takes to respond to a failure of this proportions is shocking. Sonos in denial if it thinks it can let this app be their main app for the next year and not lose the goodwill of a majority of their customers in the meantime. This isnt some minor bug - this update renders many, many people’s systems entirely unusable. I can open the app and play a song about 25% of the time. The rest - I get foolish messages like “Ooops! Something went wrong!”  Basically Sonos are saying “If customers expect their systems to work in the next six months, they’re going to be disappointed.” I’ve never seen such blatant disregard for customers by a company in my entire life.
