To Patrick Spence,

I am one of your many dissatisfied -with -the -app customers.
I was once-loyal sonos customer, who owns more of your speakers than I can count.
I have 2 houses and each house has multiple sonos speakers, from play 1s (in every room), play 3s, play5s to playbars, and a 'move'.
I guess you don't know the old adage: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". In your case, it should read: "if it ain't broke, don't break it", or,
"if it ain't broke, why break it?".

I can't help but wonder what kind of sound business decision it was to take something like the app and change it. Did you hire some
techie who needed to prove something to you? Were you all sitting around a table brainstorming for the next great addition to your once-great products?
Surely it had zero to do with your customers. Were people writing and begging you to come out with a new app which would
remove this that and the other thing (starting with playlists!!!!!!)

I have no problem with the app on my mac. If I have the music loud and the phone rings or someone walks in, the only way to turn down the
volume is to run to my mac and turn it down/pause because the delay on the iphone is ridiculous (and no, it has zero to do with my router).
The app on the mac shows the matching song cover, whereas on the phone, the image stays stuck 3 songs back.

Nothing has changed. It still sucks and is a pain in the neck.
I was thinking of getting sonos headphones, but my Bose are just fine.
I was thinking of getting sonos wall speakers. But the top of the line ones I have work just fine.
(so why would I consider replacing them? Because I'm a loyal consumer and like to support a company like sonos (once was).

I used to think sonos was a company that listened to the consumer, the people loyal to their product.
Hey everyone, Patrick Spence here, anyone having issues with the current app for iphones? or for your mac? anything you dislike
about it? would like to see added or changed.

Oh, speaking of like/dislike, on the sonos app when I play pandora, on the iphone (NOT on the mac app), you changed the thumbs up/down
Most of the time, the thumb options don't even show up! And even when they do, and you selected one, it doesn't show the command was realized.
Eventually you get "Action was successful in Pandora". But the thumbs up doesn't turn white. So you select it again, not having seen the faded gray type at the
very top, so tap the thumbs up again, and now you see it and realize: oh, I just undid the 'thumbs up'.

I go to the mac, do the same thing, and I get the white thumb immediately. No light colored type anywhere telling me 'action was successful in pandora', because I KNOW IT WAS!!! The thumb immediately turned white!!!!.

OMG, the list goes on and on with the flaws and imperfections with this iphone sonos app, and here it is Sept 7, 2024!!!!!!!

I've given away half my sonos speaker collection and continue to do so and will, sooner than later, be switching to one of the many alternatives out there.

I have spent $$$$$ money on your products, but won't be spending another penny.
Fix the app, and no, Patrick, it is NOT fixed.
In the meantime, I'll listen to sonos on my mac, which is an inconvenience, but at least it still works.

This post brought back memories of Led Zeppelin’s song:

Wow, you actually come off sounding extremely spoiled and entitled in this post.

Two houses, more speakers than you can count…  and the biggest issues in your life are volume control and thumbs up/down on Pandora? Try and gather a little perspective.

Well said Norah, good detailed description, not rambling at all. The 'new' app is a truly dreadful and misguided business.

edmountain, I was trying to make a point to sonos, in an attempt to let them know that no matter I owned (a boat, a plane, a studio, etc), I would always buy sonos products.

Spoiled? - “of a person, especially a child) harmed in character by being treated too leniently or indulgently.

Entitled? - “believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

Perspective? - “a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.”

I guess you missed the point. I was giving my point of view.

And no, it’s not a big deal with the thumbs up/thumbs down, and no, it’s not a big deal that vol, fast forward/skip controls, or image matching song don’t match or all the other issues.
