Before I owned a Sonos One, I used a simple Google Home, and every night I’d set up a media alarm so I’d wake up with music, and I had set up my Google Assistant routines so every time I’d turn off an alarm, a routine that put on weather, traffic, and news info would play.

Now that I own a Sonos One, media alarms are disabled and instead I have to set them up in the app. I still get to wake up with music, but the alarm isn’t recognized by Google Home and the routine doesn’t play, and there seems to be no way to tell the Sonos app to do something similar when the alarm is turned off. Can this feature be added for the Sonos products? Run a Google Home routine every time I turn off an alarm or have Google Home recognize Sonos alarms as alarms?

Not sure if this would work for you, but I have music (and lights) scheduled to come on at 5 AM weekdays.  At 5:02, I have the weather update.  The point is, does your update have to be triggered by turning off the alarm and can it just be a separate scheduled event?

I’m using lutron for music and lights control, but I’m sure you can use Sonos for the the audio if you can’t use GA. I’m using Alexa for the weather update.  I typically don’t turn off the music and lights, they are schuleded to shut off at 6:30 after I’ve left for the day.  It’s not exactly an alarm for me I guess, though it does wake me up in the morning.

Hi Danny. Unfortunately no, as my schedule is very dynamic and I won’t always wake at the same hour, I’d prefer to avoid having the news as my wake-up alarm or missing them at all (since I probably won’t remember for the rest of the day). My morning routine also does some processes on my PC using PushBullet, and I’d hate being interrupted from doing something important due to the automatic changes that are supposed to happen every time I actually wake up.
