A customer called today asking if he was able to change the name of the Alexa voice service in his Sonos  System since his daughter's name is Alexa and every time he calls her Sonos system got active.

He said he was able to change it in his other amazon devices because he did and wanted to know if there was a way he could do the same with Sonos.

Unfortunately, this option is not able for the Sonos system and the customer suggested doing it since he was not the only one that has the same issue and asked to please put this feedback on the community page.

As far as I’m aware, Amazon hasn’t allowed any non-Amazon device the ability to do so, but it has been requested to Sonos many, many times, mostly in the threads in the ‘Amazon Alexa and Sonos’ area of the forum. 

Given that it appears that Amazon is blocking this capability, you may want to petition them directly. 


I agree this is an Amazon issue. Maybe your customer could use Google Assistant instead (unless he has a son named Google of course :wink:).
