USB drive connected to a Netgear RAX30 keeps throwing ‘access denied’ error -  settings are  are for ‘all/no password’

Is this an issue from the past updates ?  Currently all hardware is updated an app is as well.

i connect to a windows share no issues, but would like to NOT have to keep running the PC Just to access my music.  Especially when the usb nas was working with no issues.

Hi @Sarge_72

Thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with connecting to the SMB share from your router. We are aware of this issue which is affecting only Era 100, Era 300 and Move 2 speakers, when accessing a Music Library share located on a USB drive connected to a router.

One workaround is to access the library on another device, which you have already discovered, and another is to play to a speaker that is not listed above and then group-in affected speakers with it, but if your account profile is accurate, then that is not an option for you.

We are investigating this issue, but we have no estimate for when a fix might be put in place, though I will update this thread when I hear of it.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

it’s Interesting because I can play to the era100s & the Move2 just fine from the share on the Windows PC

I can’t add the NAS share from any of the following without the above error

iOS

iPadOS

MaxOS

Windows

however I can navigate to the share from outside of Sonos no issue, so sees like an app issue?

Hi @Sarge_72

Please don’t try to make sense of it - it is a bug, and therefore never will make much sense.

For what it’s worth, as it only affects some speaker models and not others, my assumption is that the issue lies with the firmware (the speakers’ software) rather than with the app.

Firmware always possibility yes - but when the app itself isnt connecting to the NAS regardless of the speakers connected to the system - I still think there is an app issue - but for now I have a workaround, but not everyone has spare PCs to run 24/7 as a solution.

Here is hoping it gets resolved at some point

Hi @Sarge_72

The app does not connect to anything other than speakers - literally everything it ever tells you or shows you is due to a speaker telling the app to show you what you see. This is a problem with the software on the speakers rather than with the app - not that it makes a huge amount of difference, of course.

It will be resolved.

I hope this helps.

Ahhh very cool to know - so possible workaround - if I remove the era 100s & move 2 so only the arc is showing, would I be able to add the nas drive then re-add the eras & move ?
