I think the new app has no ability to update your music library?

I have been using a non-updated controller on my windows machine to actually play music. But now it has greyed out “update music library”. Although it still lets me access it just fine.

Is “update music library” disabled in the windows controller because it wants to update the controller version? If so, will it update to a new version that also doesn’t work?

Does Sonospad have the ability to do this?

How does one add music to the system while waiting for a new working controller app to come out?

Is it possible to have side-by-side installs of two versions on my PC?

@robokitty.
I am running the latest Windows Sonos controller and can update the music library OK. So I think your problems is as you suggest that you need to update your Windows controller to the latest version.
Nothing broke when I updated my version, and it looks the same as the old version so I think you will be fine if you do this.

Both SonoPhone and SonoPad have an option called “Refresh Music Library”, but I haven’t run this so not sure if it acts that same as what is in the Windows controller / old Sonos app.

Hope this helps,
Ross.

Yeah, I think you are right that the windows / mac updates are ok. I updated a mac and the controller there seemed ok.

I got sonopad. It does work nicely. But the “refresh” I think just pulls things from the server into the app - I don’t think it update the library index in the devices. But that mac update did the trick for me.
