What is the estimated schedule for releasing an updated version of the new app to fix some of the basic problems, namely stability and basic functionality?

It's obvious that the new app was released without proper testing, it is simply awful and unreliable. Wouldn't it be best to revert to the previous app until this version is ready for prime time? The extensive amount of work this app needs, to make it at least as usable and functional as the old app, will require months of work!

Why release a new app that is supposedly better, when it doesn't even come close to meeting the (acceptable) standards of the old app? The Sonos community is losing patience!

Thank you for this info! Hopefully the update is a step in the right direction.

There have been several, so a lot of us are hoping it’ll continue to improve.

I have the updated app software, so there's still a long way to go in performance and reliability. But at least Sonos is starting to make improvements.

And it just gets worse…

Today I couldn't even get the music to stop playing. Zero functionality. Went so far as to close the app and clear the cache. And then left for the evening. Hopefully the music stopped playing eventually!

I never experienced such fundamental problems with the old app. Please help, Sonos!

Any word on the return of the home screen widget for the Android version?

Sorry, but I have no idea. At this point I'm just hoping that some of the basic problems will be fixed. For example, the controls often don't work properly. And the performance is horrible! The app frequently doesn't know what it's playing and loses visibility to Sonos hardware.

You have to wonder if the CEO or any of the board actually use their own products. I have doubts given the constant drop outs, unreliability of the app thinking it’s still playing something despite airplay or Apple Music being stopped, ungrounding rooms only for the app to ignore what you’ve just done, volume controls not working and general lag in what you’ve asked the app to do to when it actually responds.

just when I think I’ve found a solution to a particular problem, it comes back the next day. I won’t buy any more Sonos products now and will look at alternatives when I need to upgrade.
