Hello

We have several Sonos products and all work fine with the Sonos 2 (S2) app.  However, we have just moved into a property with Sonos speakers fitted to the ceilings and these are operated by the Sonos S1 app.

Whilst we are successfully able to play music to the ceiling speakers from Sonos Radio (via the S1 app), we simply cannot add a Music Service to the S1 app.  We have tried several times but when selecting ‘Add a Service’ from the Services & Voice menu, no other music service appears and all that happens is a spooling wheel (as if the S1 app is looking for a music service).  The only music we can play is from Sonos Radio.

We want to add Amazon Music (U.K.) to the S1 app and, if possible, BBC Sounds - but the main source of our music is via Amazon Music.

Why is the S1 app not finding any music services.  Are we missing something?

Many thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I have the same exact issue. I just reset my two connect amps and only option I have is Sonos Radio. I'm using my S1 app only for those and my S2 app for my Arc, play 1's, and subwoofer in which I can find add an additional music services through that app for the S2 compatible products.

I read elsewhere for the time being you can only ad services on S1 through the PC or Mac app, not on your phone.

@Treble Clef Sonos ceiling speakers are powered by an amp, in your case probably a Sonos Connect:amp (since it’s on S1). What you see is the amp, not the speakers.

Same problem here.  I deleted the Sonos 1 and Sonos 2 app from my iphone because I was trying to resolve an Amazon Music issue where it would only display five artists.  I reinstalled both the Sonos 1 and 2 apps, but now cannot add Amazon Music because no music services appear when I hit the “+” button on my app to add a new service.

Not sure what’s going on with Sonos, but this is frustrating.  Been a Sonos customer for many years now and have thousands of dollars of their products in my home.

Please resolve your issues Sonos.  Your customers are waiting.

Same problem. I split the system into two parts. Music services are possible in s2. s1 no services available. Tried with two different accounts. Sonos has not responded to the email yet.

Hi @Treble Clef

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thanks for reporting - we are aware of an issue preventing users from adding music services via a Android or iOS controller on S1 systems and are investigating. As yet, we have no estimation for when this will be resolved.

In the meantime, you can add services as per usual with the desktop (Windows or macOS) Sonos app, via the menu. Please note that this will not work with Apple Music, however.

I hope this helps.

Hi Corry - Quick note that on my Mac, for S1 and S2 controller, only five artists are appearing in my Amazon music library.  It used to work perfectly.  This started this week.

Thanks -

There are already several threads about the issue with Amazon. Sonos is aware.

Thank you @106rallye and @Corry P - your answers were most helpful and solved the issue by adding music services via the macOS app.

Hi @Treble Clef et al

We now consider this issue resolved. Please ensure your Sonos system is up to date.

If you continue to see this issue, please get in touch with our technical support team for assistance.

Corry - If this is resolved, what was the fix?  Or is it that you are aware of the problem with no timeline of when it might be fixed.  Just curious -

Thanks -

Hi @stlguy

I have no idea, but I assume the fix was performed on the server side of things.

Or is it that you are aware of the problem with no timeline of when it might be fixed.

It is already fixed, hence my previous statement.

Still not working for me. Iphone Screenshot from a minute ago. Five artists. This is the S1 app. S2 app the exact same. Thanks.

Hi @stlguy

This thread is about the inability to add any music service to an S1 system, and it was that issue that was resolved

The issue your screenshot shows is off topic for this thread, and is still under investigation.

I resolved this, but with no assistance from Sonos.  It really is too bad that they can't provide better customer support and communication.  I have thousands tied up with my system and really enjoy the performance of the system.  However, they really have some work to do regarding ‘fixing bugs”.

Hi,

I’m new on this chat, but Sonos user for very very long (something like the beggining)

I have issue with my Sonos S1, not possible neither ios or Mac app, to add Amazon music, it doesn’t appear in the list, updated are done.
I read all the topics before, maybe I missed one, but any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Is Amazon Music available in your country?

Yes all the technical parameters are good, including the area where I can use Amazon music (France)

Check your Sonos profile and make sure that the country is correct. I have no experience with this, but I can imagine that there could be some quirks if you access the Internet via a VPN hosted in another country.
