After several attempts I am not able to add my music library in the new sonos app.  My library is on a separate hard drive attached to my mac.

I put in the path and nothing happens. Not even an error message.  What am I doing wrong?  Or is the app still stuffed?

I don’t know anything about Apple Mac but the version of SMB change with the new app from v1 to v2.  You may want to look into this aspect first.
