Is Tunein Pro (onetime charge) service available on Sonos? I have Tunein Premium account , but still get ads and commercials . Tunein Pro removes ads.
How many commercials are you getting? When I start a TuneIn station (which I do through Sonos Radio) I get “Welcome to TuneIn” followed by anywhere from zero to two commercials (most frequently it’s one commercial).
After that, the stream just plays with no extra commercials even if I listen for hours.
Doesn’t seem worth it to pay any extra to remove 30 seconds of commercials from an hours-long stream.
I have TuneIn pro on my smartphone. It’s a pitty I can not have it on Sonos. I do not even have the choice. It is simple not available.
That’s, perhaps oddly enough, a question you should probably be asking TuneIn directly. Sonos doesn’t really add streaming companies, just ‘approves’ their integration, per the Sonos partners page. TuneIn (free) is the one exception, where I suspect there is some sort of co-marketing agreement, although I’ve never looked deeply at it. But TuneIn premium would need to be added by TuneIn, and isn’t really something Sonos would ‘do’, but would need to ‘approve’.
TuneIn has 2 applications TuneIn Radio and TuneIn Radio Pro. TuneIn has 2 subscriptions A Free account and a premium account. TuneIn Premium gives acces to more radio stations and more features. The premium account doesn’t eliminate ads of commercials. Only the TuneIn Pro application removes ads. On Sonos I can login in TuneIn with my premium account. But I can not install the TuneIn Pro app on Sonos. So TuneIn Pro is not = TuneIn Premium.
However, TuneIn is still the responsible party for their implementation of their stream, not Sonos. So, you’re likely to get a more intelligent response if you contact TuneIn. As previously indicated, Sonos only ‘approves’ implementations, it doesn’t do them, and doesn’t decide which data comes through them.
