I followed the instructions by starflyergold and thecaretakerUK to get custom URLs into the new Sonos app. Playback works for a couple of minutes, with occasional short skips, but after about 10 minutes the playback stops intermittently for a half-second or so. I don’t know whether it has to do with buffering, playback speed or the skipping. Did anyone encounter the same problem?

I realized this on my Sonos Roam, and several Sonos-IKEA speakers. The URL I’m using is https://stream.radiofrance.fr/fip/fip.m3u8 - FIP isn’t available on TuneIn.

Also doesn’t work with Sonos Amp 2. Even if I change to lower quality URL: https://stream.radiofrance.fr/fip/fip_midfi.m3u8.

Maybe buffer overflows? Who knows.

This all worked with TuneIn (old) and your S2 app, and the new app just broke my system, but downgrade isn’t possible. Why is the new app so frustrating?

If I use the Desktop Sonos App, I can play back radio stations from the old TuneIn plugin and everything works fine. But the station is grayed out when I want to play it from my Android app.

You could ad Radio France’s music service to Sonos, see https://support.sonos.com/en-us/services/radio-france

Alternatively, have you tried ”myTuner Radio”service?  It doesn’t require any account. I can add that service and find there streams (FIP, local ones etc.) that aren’t in TuneIn (New). It seems I no longer need so many custom urls as they are in that myTurner Radio service.
