On monday 5/11 my Sonos controller was working fine, I rebooted my pc and now it will not connect to the lirary. It says it does then goes to “Sorry we cant connect to Sonos” display. Being that it is Friday 5/15 I narrowed it down to sonoslibraryservice service not starting. Not sure why and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thanks for helping.

Device - HP EliteBook 840 G3

OS - Microsoft 10 64-bit

That is a pretty simple exe, I can think of only two reasons why it would fail to start up:

  1. Its configuration files are corrupt. Try uninstall/reinstall (the main file is C:\ProgramData\Sonos,_Inc\runtime\ShareConfig.xml)
  2. There is a .NET versioning problem - check Windows Update for .NET Framework updates you might be missing.

Also check the eventlog - it should show exactly why it is failing to start.
