I used to be the biggest and most enthusiastic supporter of Sonos, and now I want to rip everything out of my walls. If they even had a single competitor that did Wi-Fi whole house music, I'd be putting everything on eBay and starting over.

The new app update that came out recently makes almost every feature difficult. I constantly get the error message "something went wrong" when looking for libraries, playlists, or really anything. I have reinstalled the app twice. I have removed and reinstalled every service within sonos. I have used two different devices, one apple and one Android. My Plex server sometimes shows up, sometimes says that there's no data in it, and sometimes just gives me an error message. My network attached storage pretends it's not there 90% of the time. The five devices I have on my network sometimes just decide they're not going to be there anymore and I have to reset them. The UI has become cumbersome, and where I had everything at my fingertips before now even volume changes seem to be buried between four layers of crap.

I would give someone $1000 to figure out a way to copy the app that was available 2 years ago and never update again. I don't think I've ever been so dissatisfied with the way a service has progressed as I have with sonos.

There's no network problems. I have no vpn.

Please just give us a way to retrograde and stop innovating. Stop fixing what wasn't broken.

Closest competitor is Bluesound, also Bluesound (BluOS) enabled devices from other manufacturers.

Whoa whoa whoa

for whatever reason, after initial , major issues, my system is more or less back to perfect

i am an av guy, do not work for sonos, but have been a big fan.  It had just worked. We all agree

if mine works, everyone else's can too.

obviously the ill planned introduction of the new app caused a crazy situation.  But be calm and try not to over think the problems you think you have

even though i can do complicated set ups, i have tended to be as simple as possible

sonos, arc, beam , amp, roam etc

pandora, radio, music library, all working v good right now

in my shorts cleaned the pool listening to foreigner iv,

dont lose faith guys. I did no factory resets just refreshed a few things

I mean I'm glad it works for you james, but it doesn't work for me 60 percent of the time and I *have* done all the resets. My setup is as simple as it can be. Sonos needs to roll this back.

I agreed

the ceo point blank told me cannot happen

no reason, just NO

that being said i decided to approach it differently -and i got things working quite quick. As if it was a me issue not theirs

did some basic trouble shooting and got basic sonos back and trusted they would fix the other bugs

my main concern was new products and library

library is back. Went through a new set up mindset and i got it.

does anything work at all at your end?

glad it works for you, nothing works for me, all my speakers have disappeared from the app.

Things work for me intermittently. 70 percent of the time when I open the app I get this

I have to force stop the app 10 times a day

And browsing for my library gets me this no matter how many  times I reinstall the service

And about 50 percent of the time it decides to tell me my Plex server is empty

And these are just the most consistent errors. Almost everything I do in this app is now a major hassle, or straight up doesn't work.

I have a simple setup. Everything works fine. Music library, Apple Music, Radio, all OK.  Added a new album today, updated library, no problem. Can play complete albums and playlists. Voice control via Alexa is as before. Sure not being able to mute a single speaker and the sluggish volume controls are annoying but neither are showstoppers & hopefully they’ll be fixed/improved. Range of new (ERA 300) and older (Sonos One) speakers amongst others. Even really old Play 1’s as surround sound speakers. What have you guys got that’s so different or complex? I helped one guy with a NAS issue so I’m sure it’s all fixable.

My point is that I don't have anything complex. This is basic.

New awesome feature! Sonos randomly takes the volume of everything playing to zero without any input.

It gets better and better every day.
