When I change something on Sonos ...e.g., volume, then close the app, in a few seconds it pops back up on my screen.
Would love if it NEVER happened again.

Running a MacBook Pro (I-9, not Apple silicon), 15 inch from 2019, and Ventura 13.2, and I can’t reproduce this issue at all. I close the S2 client, it stays closed. I don’t have any “notifications” turned on for my Sonos client, though.

The entire app reboots and appears? Or is this just a popup in the “control center”?
I don’t frequently shut down my S2 Mac client, I’ll try to do some testing this afternoon.
