I would like to rename my speakers just using the app itself.

I have 2 SONOS Play 1 speakers set up and they work just fine, but their “names” do not reflect their “location” I’m using the SONOS 2 Controller and the software was just updated about an hour ago.

So I’d like to do this WITHOUT using THE FOLLOWING: 

“alexa” (she doesn’t live here...)

“iCloud” ( it was never set up...I don’t use it)

“Apple Home” app (Do not want or need it)

 

Like the subject line says: “just using the app itself.”

Open the controller

Go to settings

Go to System

Go to the room name you want to change

Click on the Room name

Pick a new name from the list, or click on the name at the top to use backspace and then enter your own ‘name of choice’.

Didn’t realize it had to be done on my phone, not my computer...

The computer app was ‘parked’ a long time ago, most setup options are no longer available in it. It is only getting bug fixes, not feature updates. Anything setup related needs to be done on a mobile controller.
