Problem accessing music on share on Synology NAS

Using the Sonos S1 app, I decided to try loading Plex on my Synology DS218j NAS. When I tried to play music I got an Access denied message, both from Plex and from Sonos Music Library. I then decided to revert all changes that I could, uninstall the S1 app and forget about Plex. However, now when I try to add a music library share, I get an error “Access to the share …… is denied - check the user name and/or password”

I have speakers running on the S2 app without a problem.

Any ideas?

Hi @Jon a, welcome to the Sonos Community!

It’s possible that when you updated your Synology, permissions changed with it which is preventing Sonos from properly accessing it.

I would suggest reaching out to our support team for further assistance. They can take diagnostics and remote into your system to see what is causing the access denied error.

I hope this information helps!

Further browsing reveals that in my housekeeping I updated to Synology DSM 7, and the answer was in a thread “My ‘Sonos 1’ app has stopped accessing my Synology DiskStation music folder”
