all of a sudden i pick a playlist and it loads over and over.  the one on right now is 110 songs long but the queue shows about 43,000 songs.  i only have 13,000 songs in my entire library.  help?  and can anybody explain when these people are going to fix things like being able to use the alphabet to find items?

Hi @bfg1953

Welcome back to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with loading a playlist - we did identify such an issue yesterday, but it was in relation to YouTube Music, whereas it sounds like you might be using your local music library. Could you please confirm this, as if so, we will need to expand to scope of the new ticket for this issue to include sources other than YouTube Music. Thank you.

The alphabet scroller (for want of a better term) has been asked for multiple times since the new app came out - although I cannot confirm that it is planned, I personally would be surprised if it does not return at some point.

I hope this helps.

It is happening with local music libraries. My imported M3U playlists over ~100 songs are doing this.

Hi @EbayYellow

Thanks for confirming - I have reported the behaviour.

Hi @bfg1953 & @EbayYellow

I can confirm that we have identified an issue with multiple duplicates showing when adding larger playlists to the queue and are investigating. I have no estimate for when a fix might be put in place, but I will update this thread when I hear of one.

I hope this helps.

I am using iTunes as my source, with the data stored on a external drive.   I’m screwed until it’s fixed.  And now I notice it won’t switch to other playlists.  This is awful.

Hey - update, maybe.  I just tried to play something using the windows pc app rather than the iPhone app and it seems emphasis on seems] to work.  Should I reload the app?

Hi @bfg1953

The Sonos app on your phone? No - I don’t think that will help any.

It does seem that this issue is restricted to the mobile app, however, so using the Desktop app should work as intended, as you have discovered. The Web App may also work.

Well, that’s inconvenient but ok as a stopgap.  More info - I found that if I clear the queue I can select another playlist but it does the same thing of loading it hundreds of times - and because they’re designed to be run randomly you get repeats etc.  The app should be made to work.

Guess what - the pc app is doing the same f’g thing.  Really great work guys.  I spent a lot of money to install SONOS.  Why can’t you go back to the way it was - nobody likes the new app - it’s been a disaster.

Hi @bfg1953

Sorry - I was not aware.

If the PC app does the same thing, then the issue has nothing to do with the new app and is more to do with the speakers' software.

What does that mean?  And how does it get resolved.  Also, I was able to play albums without the queue going bonkers.

All the Sonos rep was saying is if the PC app is doing the same thing as the mobile app, then the problem lies in the firmware on the Sonos devices, not in the apps.  Not really more than informational to you, but a very important point for the engineers tasked with fixing the problem.

Ok, thanks.  Maybe a dumb question - how will I know if it’s fixed?  It’s an important issue for us - we have many playlists that we use for the holidays, dinner parties, etc., and not being able to use them is frustrating.

I’ll post to this thread when I hear of a solution.
